New Hub for Animal Rights
Stephanie Ernst, formerly of Change.org, has started a new space called "Animal Rights and AntiOppression" and she has invited yours truly to post there! The tag line is: "Challenging oppression and injustice, against nonhuman animals, humans, and earth — one vegan, environmentalist, feminist, social-justice-loving, all-around-progressive post at a time. Generous helpings of snark and thoughtfulness alike provided at no extra charge."
Stephanie has also invited Deb from Invisible Voices, Kelly G from easyVegan.info and Marji, who blogs for Animal Place sanctuary and For the Pits.
I'll be posting as Mary Martin, because . . . I am Mary Martin, and my first post is "On the Neglect of Animals by The Left." I welcome you to visit, look around, and chime in!
I'll still be posting here, as well.
I'm excited about this new hub. AntiOppression touches on many issues, yet they all have that common strand that runs through them. And the more you think about that strand, the more you see it–the more obvious (and ubiquitous) it is. If we can get activists from all camps to see it, the more effective and efficient we will all be.
Yes, there is a common thread linking all oppression and exploitation. When many "threads" weave together they make for sturdy rope. Good move! 😉
