UPDATE On Maxine Update
Thanks Ellie and Tricia for alerting me that Maxine is currently at Farm Sanctuary in New York. I hope they don’t mind that I pilfered this photo of her.
Someone recently asked what good it would do to not order a steak for dinner when billions of cows would be slaughtered anyway.
This is why. Maxine is an individual. When you are in a position to save an individual, you save her or him.

Just some info for anyone who's never been to Farm Sanctuary – My wife and I went there a few years ago and it is a wonderful place! We spent the night in one of their cabins and spent the day walking around the farm visiting all of the animals. The people there are truly dedicated to their cause. One thing that I found interesting was that the lead guitarist from Boston, Tom Scholz, donated the funds for one of the large cow barns on the property. Nice to see!
