Jeb Bush Does the Right Thing for Greyhounds

I love being able to say: Today, I like Jeb Bush. He vetoed legislation (perhaps thanks to a nudge from thousands of his constituents, including yours truly) that would have given over $300,000 in subsidies to a greyhound racetrack in Pensacola. They claimed "repair of hurricane damage," but Jeb didn’t buy it and knows darn well that the greyhound racing industry is dying.

I have a problem with subsidies, in general, as I’ve never seen one that seemed fair. They are inherently biased, as they support certain businesses while leaving others to fend for themselves.
(Naturally, factory-farming subsidies come to mind as some of the most egregious examples of discrimination. The family farm was essentially penalized out of existence, while factory farms are rewarded for cruelty, pollution, and producing products laced with drugs and steriods.)

But again, today, I like Jeb Bush.
